About the role
- Staff Engineer building GoDaddy’s pricing, packaging, and shopping platform. Designing scalable services and tooling powering its public web presence and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Build the merchandising backbone behind GoDaddy's public web presence and customer shopping experience
- Own services powering product pricing, packaging, and add-to-cart experiences across GoDaddy brands
- Set the technical direction of highly visible, cross-organizational initiatives
- Design and evolve merchandising APIs and services with attention to latency, resilience, and backward compatibility
- Develop internal platforms and tooling to improve development, deployment, and operations productivity
- Mentor, lead, and influence engineers
- Perform code reviews to reinforce engineering quality
- Contribute to open-source projects related to the technology stack and product domain
- Experiment with new approaches and share successes and learnings with the team
- Partner across engineering teams to drive technical solutions and architecture for new and complex functions
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional Agile software development experience, including launching and operating production software for public use
- Proven ability to collaborate across Marketing, Engineering, and Product Management
- Full-stack engineering expertise with React, Node.js, and TypeScript
- Experience with REST and GraphQL web-service architectures
- Data store and caching experience within distributed systems, including DynamoDB, Redis, or relational databases
- Cloud platform experience with AWS
- Infrastructure as code experience such as AWS CDK or Terraform
- CI/CD pipeline experience such as GitHub Actions
- Container orchestration experience such as Kubernetes or ECS
- Mentoring and technical leadership experience
- Experience with merchandising technologies, experimentation strategies, and analytics/data pipelines is an additional qualification
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants, developer tooling, or LLM-powered workflows is an additional qualification
