About the role
- Ingénieur mécanique concevant des solutions d’intégration pour écrans DEL et éclairages de façades chez SACO. Développement de prototypes, simulations et procédés de fabrication.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical integration solutions for LED display and façade lighting projects
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and architects
- Prepare component and assembly drawings required for manufacturing and assembly
- Perform simulations to validate the structural integrity of designs
- Determine manufacturing methods and options to support procurement and production teams
- Produce models, renderings, and technical analyses for project documentation, client proposals, and certifications
- Coordinate testing conducted by external suppliers or laboratories
- Conduct failure mode analyses
- Design, manufacture, and test prototypes
- Define product installation procedures for field sites
- Define production steps and the jigs and fixtures required for manufacturing
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible for membership
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Practical experience in product design
- Proficiency in SolidWorks — required
- Experience with 3D printing
- Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written
- Strong understanding of design for manufacturability
- Excellent conceptualization and design skills
- Ability to collaborate with and influence various teams and functions
- Ability to adapt to constantly changing requirements and environments
- Self-motivated, with strong initiative
- Collaborative mindset and results-oriented approach
- Ability to take existing work, improve it, and propose solutions
- Experience in lighting, construction, or architecture is an asset
- Knowledge of certification standards and processes is an asset
- Knowledge of LED displays and lighting fixtures is an asset
