About the role

  • Branch Manager leading sales, service, and operational performance for Grainger’s MRO distribution branches in Windsor and Leamington. Developing teams, growing counter sales, managing P&L, inventory, staffing, safety, and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to fulfill sales, service, and operational objectives of assigned branch(es)
  • Translate leadership and strategic direction for branch team members
  • Communicate and execute the branch business strategy and change management
  • Make fact-based business decisions balancing service, cost, ethics, and integrity
  • Lead customer interactions and make the location the customer’s first choice for MRO products and services
  • Build internal and external partnerships
  • Develop and execute sales and marketing plans, including showroom activities
  • Grow market share of counter and will-call sales
  • Lead a customer-driven sales and service culture
  • Present business results during Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Implement the Branch Network strategy
  • Drive key performance indicators for service excellence
  • Balance operating expenses and improve processes
  • Implement staffing strategies aligned with business needs and payroll budgets
  • Monitor P/L reports to achieve sales and expense targets
  • Ensure compliance with WFS Ltd. standard operating procedures
  • Manage inventory, safety, security, facility maintenance, and regulatory compliance
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of products sold
  • Create an engaged and committed team environment
  • Conduct performance reviews and coach team-member growth and development
  • Execute recruitment, selection, onboarding, coaching, and rewards and recognition
  • Maintain consistent team communication and encourage open-door feedback

Requirements

  • Combination of post-secondary education and experience or five years equivalent experience that meets the role requirements
  • Ability to implement initiatives, manage projects, and lead change
  • General business acumen, including understanding financial operating statements, P&L statements, and key drivers
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Effective time-management skills and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to influence and persuade internal and external decision-makers
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional work groups to develop integrated plans
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience in a sales and service environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Previous experience with SAP considered an asset
  • Bilingual in French and English where applicable
  • Ability to relocate considered an asset
  • Vehicle and driver’s licence required
