About the role

  • Product Information Analyst maintaining accurate MRO product data in Grainger’s PIM system. Supporting taxonomy, supplier and eCommerce initiatives for a leading industrial distributor.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure the quality, completeness and accuracy of existing product information in the Product Information Management (PIM) System
  • Support business initiatives involving changes to product information while maintaining data integrity and hierarchy structure
  • Analyze and track initiatives for global and Acklands-Grainger supplier and purchasing functions
  • Perform data analysis, editing, normalization updates and technical content support
  • Execute and comply with data integrity rules
  • Identify improvement opportunities and provide constructive feedback
  • Clean and maintain data according to business priorities and defined processes
  • Participate in Product Information team projects supporting business priorities
  • Collaborate with peers, suppliers and business partners on business initiatives
  • Address data content, consistency and taxonomy issues and determine implementation approaches
  • Audit product information for accuracy and consistency
  • Complete daily tasks on time and proactively communicate timelines
  • Collaborate with eCommerce, Product Management and Marketing groups to support department and business goals

Requirements

  • Systems proficiency in Teradata, Snowflake, Excel, Word and Access
  • Proven experience managing and analyzing product information data
  • Highly skilled at analyzing large sets of data and sorting relevant information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio and Access
  • Awareness of increasing customer expectations around product information
  • Experience with MRO product information preferred
  • Understanding of Product Information strategies
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships in a matrixed corporate environment and with suppliers
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives
  • Ability to understand technical information, concepts and decisions
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply proprietary analytical tools, technologies and processes
  • Excellent attention to detail regarding relevant, accurate and complete product information
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to foster cross-functional collaboration, identify and manage stakeholder impacts, influence without authority, and create alignment
  • Bilingual English/French is an asset but not required
