About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned files, analyze them, and ensure their progress
  • Demonstrate empathy, listen to clients, and reassure them by adapting your approach
  • Represent clients at the courthouse for discharge hearings and motions
  • Follow up on delinquent files and manage debtor discharges
  • Manage assets to be realized by the trustee
  • Communicate and reach agreements with creditors, lawyers, and representatives of financial institutions
  • Lead, oversee, and control the conduct of client meetings
  • Build trusting relationships and credibility with internal and external clients and creditors
  • Analyze and complete complex calculations of average monthly income and determine payment obligations with debtors
  • Know and apply the firm's administrative and ethical rules and quality standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, law, or another relevant field
  • Relevant experience in insolvency, an asset
  • CCAA practical courses on insolvency consultations (CPCI) and bankruptcy administration, an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills, including priority management, rigor, efficiency, analytical thinking, curiosity, agility, and interpersonal flexibility
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including customer service, teamwork, autonomy, leadership, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage stress effectively
  • Excellent command of French, both spoken and written
  • Knowledge of the main areas of law related to insolvency, including bankruptcy, security interests, municipal, matrimonial, tax, and business law, as well as applicable legislation and codes (BIA, Civil Code of Québec, Code of Civil Procedure, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software, with ease working in a computerized environment
