About the role

  • Principal Project Manager leading complex energy M&A due diligence for DNV, an assurance and risk-management expert. Driving technical advisory, transaction delivery, customer growth, and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, high-risk, multi-discipline, and multi-technology M&A due diligence engagements
  • Own scope, schedule, budget, quality, customer confidence, and commercial outcomes
  • Identify technical risks and opportunities and communicate transaction implications
  • Deliver technical analysis for energy and infrastructure projects
  • Review project contracts, financial models, designs, technologies, operating history, and asset management approaches
  • Conduct site inspections, interviews, benchmarking analyses, and development-stage project screening studies
  • Serve as Project Sponsor on major engagements and provide senior oversight and escalation support
  • Coordinate technical reviews among civil, electrical, energy assessment, technology, transmission, permitting, and other specialists
  • Review and approve major deliverables
  • Lead customer dialogues and develop proposals for due diligence services
  • Support customers through transaction execution, investment committee decisions, financing, and closing
  • Improve methodologies, delivery approaches, digital tools, and service offerings
  • Develop customer engagement strategies and expand priority accounts
  • Contribute to talent development, service-line evolution, strategic hiring, thought leadership, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Support QHSE quality-management procedures and controls
  • Mentor Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Associate Project Managers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year university in a relevant field including engineering, science, thermal generation, renewable energy, finance, business or related areas
  • Typically, 10+ years of applicable technical advisory, commercial leadership, and complex project management experience in thermal, solar, wind, storage, and/or energy infrastructure in North America
  • Knowledge of the energy project lifecycle, including project contracts, technology and design, energy production assessments, financial modeling and economics, operations and performance, transmission/curtailment considerations, and technical risks
  • Demonstrated success leading large, complex, time-sensitive due diligence engagements
  • Demonstrated leadership adopting, testing, and improving digital and AI-enabled delivery tools
  • Demonstrated senior-level technical and commercial judgment
  • Demonstrated success directing commercial performance, including budget, margin, invoicing, scope control, change orders, and customer positioning
  • Demonstrated success leading proposals and contributing to account or pipeline growth
  • Experience mentoring project managers or technical professionals and providing quality or sponsor-level oversight
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to approximately 15% of the time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to serve customers in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and the United States
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background screening
