- Senior Project Manager leading technical due diligence and M&A advisory for DNV’s North American energy clients. Driving complex transactions, customer relationships, project quality, and team development.
Responsibilities
- Lead large, multidisciplinary, multi-technology technical due diligence engagements
- Own scope, schedule, budget, quality, customer confidence, and commercial outcomes
- Identify technical risks and opportunities and communicate transaction implications to customers
- Review project contracts, designs, technologies, financial models, construction and operating costs
- Conduct operational evaluations, site inspections, interviews, benchmarking analyses, and project screening studies
- Provide senior oversight of due diligence execution and prioritize QHSE considerations
- Coordinate technical reviews across civil and electrical engineering, energy assessment, technology, transmission, permitting, and other disciplines
- Resolve technical issues with transaction stakeholders and internal specialists
- Lead reporting and quality assurance, including writing, editing, reviewing, approving, and synthesizing technical due diligence reports
- Lead customer dialogues and develop proposals for due diligence services
- Support transaction execution, investment committee decisions, financing, and closing
- Lead continuous improvement through tool development, process refinement, training, and lessons learned
- Maintain compliance with DNV quality management procedures
- Mentor Project Managers and Associate Project Managers and advise on development and assignments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university in a relevant field, including engineering, science, thermal generation, renewable energy, finance, business, or related areas
- Typically 7+ years of applicable technical and project management experience in thermal, solar, wind, storage, and/or energy infrastructure in North America
- Knowledge of the energy project lifecycle, project contracts, technology and design, energy production assessments, financial modeling and economics, operations and performance, transmission/curtailment, and common technical risks
- Willingness to adopt, test, and improve digital and AI-enabled delivery tools
- Ability to balance technical, commercial, schedule, and transaction priorities
- Experience owning project financial performance, including budget, margin, invoicing, scope control, and change orders
- Experience leading proposals, shaping scopes for complex transactions, and contributing to account or pipeline growth
- Experience mentoring project managers or technical professionals and providing quality or sponsor-level oversight
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to approximately 15% of the time
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to serve customers in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and the United States by email and phone
