About the role

  • Vice President leading GS1 Canada's product portfolio and digital platforms. Building Product Management capability, driving adoption, commercial performance, and long-term growth.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the long-term product vision, strategy, and investment priorities for GS1 Canada's products and digital platforms
  • Own the strategic direction, commercial performance, and lifecycle of the product portfolio
  • Translate customer, subscriber, industry, and market insights into differentiated products and services
  • Make strategic investment decisions across a three-year horizon while balancing long-term platform evolution with near-term priorities
  • Build and lead a high-performing Product Management organization
  • Establish product management best practices and operating mechanisms for consistent, scalable delivery
  • Partner with Technology, Design, Marketing, Community Engagement, Standards, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership
  • Drive product strategy, portfolio management, customer insight, commercial performance, organizational capability, product governance, and cross-functional leadership
  • Ensure products solve meaningful customer problems, achieve adoption, drive measurable business outcomes, and support GS1 Canada's long-term growth

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of progressive Product Management experience, including experience leading Product teams
  • Demonstrated success defining and executing long-term product strategies for complex digital products, platforms, SaaS, or technology-enabled businesses
  • Proven experience managing product portfolios and making strategic investment decisions that resulted in measurable customer adoption and business growth
  • Experience building and scaling high-performing Product Management teams and operating models
  • Strong commercial acumen balancing customer value, organizational priorities, and financial performance
  • Experience leading cross-functional organizations and influencing executive stakeholders in complex environments
  • Ability to use customer insights, product analytics, experimentation, and market intelligence to drive strategic decisions
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting complex product strategies to executive audiences
  • Preferred: Experience in Product Information Management, Master Data Management, Digital Commerce, Data Exchange, Platform businesses, or SaaS
  • Preferred: Familiarity with AI-enabled product development and modern Product Operating Models
