About the role
- Finance executive scaling systems, cash flow, and profitability for Hadley Designs’ screen-free learning products. Leading financial strategy, automation, budgeting, and forecasting for growth toward $100M.
Responsibilities
- Own the full finance function, building scalable systems, managing cash flow, driving profitability, and leading financial strategy
- Deliver accurate, audit-ready financials by the 20th of each month with full account reconciliation and zero material errors
- Build and maintain a 12-month rolling cash forecast, updated weekly
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting across all departments
- Develop automated systems and workflows to reduce manual reporting time
- Partner with leadership to increase profitability and improve EBITDA
- Create and document SOPs for close, forecasting, cash flow, and reporting processes
- Implement expense management, travel, and purchasing systems by Month 6
- Produce financial dashboards and KPIs
- Partner with Product, Sales, and Operations on growth, cash flow, and inventory planning
- Evaluate ERP and reporting technology solutions for company scale
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA or CPA strongly preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, including 3+ years in leadership
- Proven success in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Experience implementing scalable systems and automation in growing organizations
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, compliance, and tax standards
- Proficiency with tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, or advanced Excel/Google Sheets
- Excellent analytical and communication skills; you turn complexity into clarity
- Experience in e-commerce or multi-channel retail (preferred)
