About the role
- EAL Teacher responsible for teaching virtual EAL classes and providing tutoring at Nova Scotia International Student Program. Developing lesson plans to improve students' English skills in grades 7-12.
Responsibilities
- The EAL Teacher is responsible for teaching virtual EAL classes, and providing tutoring to NSISP students with low level English in grades 7-12.
- The EAL teacher will be expected to develop and implement lesson plans that support students with improving their English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
Requirements
- Valid Teaching Certificate recognized by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development OR EAL teaching qualifications that are recognized by TESL Canada.
- Previous experience teaching EAL in Canada or abroad.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, and demonstrated excellence in teaching.
- Experience with virtual EAL instruction and use of Google Classroom is considered an asset.
