About the role

  • Commercial Insurance Associate servicing commercial accounts for HUB, a North American insurance brokerage. Processing policies, supporting producers, and advising clients on coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Assist producer and marketer with all aspects of servicing commercial accounts
  • Meet existing clients’ needs and process documentation, including Certificates of Insurance, Cover Notes, Renewals, Proposals, Endorsements, In-House Policies, Invoicing, Finance Contracts, and Customer Correspondence
  • Review and ensure accuracy of policy documentation from insurers before forwarding to the client
  • Contact clients for renewal information
  • Take client calls and answer questions regarding coverages
  • Accept and process online quotes
  • Negotiate with insurers on coverage and price in conjunction with the producer
  • Update client information as changes occur
  • Answer account-related questions and requests from clients, lawyers, and banks
  • Provide policy and coverage information to clients upon request or inquiry
  • Perform minimal but regular duties supporting the floater position
  • Work closely with Producers and Marketers on Commercial accounts
  • Build long-term client relationships and provide client service

Requirements

  • Level 2 Insurance License
  • 1 year of commercial insurance experience considered an asset
  • 1 year of general insurance industry experience considered an asset
  • Industry designation considered an asset (CIP, CAIB, CRM, or General Insurance and Risk Management Diploma, BCIT)
  • Highly self-directed with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to manage your own workload
  • Strong attention to detail, with accuracy in data entry and documentation
  • Committed to following established processes, policy, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborative approach and a genuine interest in contributing to a diverse team
  • Strong customer service focus with the ability to deliver positive client experiences
  • Clear and credible written and verbal communication across all levels of the organization
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, client focused environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Successful background check required
  • Required experience: 1-2 years of relevant experience
