Responsibilities
Lead a large, coast-to-coast sales organization
Execute sales and business development strategies aligned with company objectives
Develop business plans and sales models covering multichannel strategies, territory design, market management, forecasting, resource planning, and budget and expense management
Partner with Strategy and Project teams on short-, medium-, and long-term sales plans
Set quotas, revenue targets, growth targets, product and pricing optimization, and performance measures
Review service models and organizational structures to reflect dealer and partner needs
Own sales performance, profitability, sales commitments, sales strategies, and growth campaigns
Oversee development and execution of solutions and agreements
Build relationships with dealers, manufacturers, automotive associations, regulatory authorities, media, and other stakeholders
Represent the company at industry conferences, association events, and market forums
Represent Sales at the executive level and collaborate with Marketing, IT, Legal and Regulatory Compliance, and support services
Collaborate on product and service alignment and innovative product development
Conduct market analysis and monitor regulatory, governance, and market changes
Design and implement formal sales processes and standards of conduct
Mentor, coach, train, and advise the sales leadership team and sales professionals
Conduct talent assessments and identify development needs
Create a positive, growth-oriented culture and recruit talent
Foster collaboration across sales teams and networks
Oversee compensation and commission structures
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, finance, or a related field, or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience managing a large national or multi-territory sales organization
8 to 10 years of experience leading major accounts and strategic partnerships, with responsibility for recruiting, training, developing, and managing a team of professionals
Experience preferably within an insurance organization
In-depth knowledge and expertise in the automotive sector
Experience with financing and insurance products and distribution channels is an asset
Experience in automotive insurance, automotive financing or leasing, or a comparable market is advantageous
Strong sales leadership instincts
Demonstrated leadership and ability to motivate a sales force
Strong relationship management capabilities, emotional intelligence, and business acumen
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
Ability to design innovative, complex, and mutually beneficial solutions
Ability to attract, develop, and coach top talent
Understanding of sales structures, incentives, compensation, and performance drivers
Excellent spoken and written English-language skills
Knowledge of other languages is an asset
Regular travel across Canada, approximately 50% to 60% of the role
