About the role

  • Research Director analyzing integration, API management, and AI-enablement markets for IDC, a global technology intelligence provider. Forecasting growth, advising clients, and presenting insights to technology leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Identify key market trends in integration and AI enablement, as well as broader AI technology and market developments
  • Analyze competitive market strategies and conduct market segment and sizing studies
  • Contribute to research analyzing trends, competitive strategy, financial performance of technology providers, and end-user demand
  • Provide industry expertise for client-facing engagements and client inquiries
  • Partner with sales to drive incremental revenue through subscription and custom solutions for the AD&A group
  • Respond to client requests for market and competitive data across relevant tool and platform technology markets
  • Collaborate with other analysts, particularly in agentic automation research areas, to create research documents and forecasts
  • Present to senior management, including C-level executives, and interview or interact with IT and technology vendor decision-makers and senior audiences
  • Use IDC research methodologies to size markets and forecast market growth
  • Collaborate within IDC’s worldwide artificial intelligence, data and automation research domain on integration, API management, middleware, messaging, and agentic orchestration capabilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the Integration software market and overall AI technology sector
  • Ability to analyze trends and provide actionable guidance to technology providers and buyers
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze survey data and provide clear, concise summaries and recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze, present, and articulate complex data sets
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Capacity to work independently and within a team
  • Proven ability to read and evaluate financial reports and analyze key competitive drivers
  • Ability to travel 25-30% for client meetings, industry events, and customer projects
  • Employment eligibility verification required
  • Direct experience in integration software and AI technology is a strong plus
