About the role

  • Senior Internal Auditor strengthening controls for Innergex, an independent renewable energy producer. Planning financial and non-financial audits, testing controls, and recommending improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform non-financial audit engagements in accordance with the audit plan
  • Conduct interviews with employees and managers to gather information
  • Analyze risks, identify controls, and prepare audit programs
  • Test internal controls and assess control weaknesses and impacts
  • Make practical recommendations and prepare audit reports
  • Present audit results to relevant leaders and managers
  • Document audit files and ensure quality control
  • Monitor implementation of action plans
  • Obtain process updates and conduct interviews for financial audits
  • Analyze processes and update risk/control matrices and key-control portfolios
  • Test key controls and assess design and operational effectiveness
  • Draft observations, recommendations, and reports
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide required information
  • Participate in internal financial controls training
  • Help plan annual financial and non-financial audits
  • Suggest improvements to audit techniques
  • Participate in special projects, including fraud investigations, and perform related tasks

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in internal auditing, covering financial and non-financial audits
  • CPA, CIA, IFRS
  • Training in internal auditing and in-depth knowledge of best practices in internal controls
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
  • Analytical mind, attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to synthesize information
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time to France, Chile, and the United States
  • Spanish is an asset
  • Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written, is required
  • Position based at the company's headquarters in Longueuil
  • P3 level position
