About the role

  • Claims Assistant supporting adjusters with auto and home insurance claims at Intact. Coordinating customers, suppliers, repair shops, police services, and claim administration.

Responsibilities

  • Support claims adjusters in processing auto and home insurance claims.
  • Follow up with customers via email, SMS, and phone to move their claims forward and obtain missing information.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including suppliers, repair shops, police services, and other partners.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to claims files, including transcribing and completing damage assessments, updating claim notes, and filing documents.
  • Use multiple computer systems simultaneously and properly apply available tools and processes to optimize claims file management.
  • Provide support, follow established process steps, and meet defined service standards and timelines.
  • Demonstrate a professional, empathetic, and customer-focused approach, including when handling more challenging calls.
  • Temporary 6-month contract.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or college diploma (business administration training is an asset), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service and/or administrative role.
  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to navigate multiple applications and systems simultaneously and perform accurate data entry.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to maintain a consistently high level of performance in terms of quality and volume.
  • Adaptability to change, including changes to procedures, new tools, and operational adjustments.
  • No Canadian work experience is required; however, you must be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout their employment.
