About the role

  • Claims Adjuster investigating and managing auto and property insurance claims for Intact. Supporting customers across Montreal, Laval, Quebec City and Saint-Hyacinthe.

Responsibilities

  • Open new claims over the phone with customers and ensure immediate handling
  • Analyze gathered information, determine claim validity, investigate circumstances, identify causes and review damage assessments
  • Interview insureds and/or witnesses to gather accounts of events
  • Use tools efficiently
  • Manage work and competing priorities effectively
  • Check insureds’ policy details to determine coverage
  • Collaborate with appraisal, underwriting and subrogation teams
  • Ensure effective cost management
  • Investigate and manage auto and property losses and complex Personal Lines insurance claims
  • Support customers in getting back on track after auto or home insurance claims

Requirements

  • Claims Adjuster certificate (Personal Lines insurance)
  • At least two years of experience as a claims adjuster
  • Agility, autonomy and a proactive approach in managing your workload
  • Curiosity and commitment
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of the claims process
  • Ability to maintain a high level of performance and productivity
  • Bilingualism (English-French), with ability to interact with francophone and anglophone customers daily
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment
  • Sole responsibility for maintaining work eligibility; Intact does not provide immigration sponsorship or related support
