About the role

  • Enterprise Architect guiding Intact’s insurance technology strategy, governance, and modernization. Defining roadmaps, reviewing solutions, and driving enterprise-wide transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and guide the evolution of the enterprise technology landscape
  • Align business strategy, customer needs and technology investments to enable long-term transformation
  • Define and communicate enterprise architecture principles, target-state roadmaps and strategic technology direction across business, application, data, integration, cloud, security and infrastructure domains
  • Contribute to enterprise architecture practices, processes, governance and compliance
  • Establish strategic initiatives for Global Enterprise Architecture guided by business and IT strategy
  • Define and maintain governance and compliance standards and policies
  • Use AI to build prototypes and explore options
  • Execute Enterprise Architecture processes
  • Create, update and maintain architecture models, roadmaps and strategies
  • Lead risk and cost analysis, including build-versus-buy strategies and recommendations
  • Analyze the current IT environment, identify critical deficiencies and recommend improvements
  • Define and evolve global IT architecture based on long-term business strategy, security requirements, business plans, application obsolescence and available IT solutions
  • Capture current-state architecture and establish future-state architecture visions for each domain
  • Develop domain roadmaps to achieve the future state
  • Participate in strategic programs and guide their design according to architecture principles
  • Review project implementations with functional leadership to ensure alignment with approved architecture
  • Serve as an internal spokesperson for Enterprise Architecture
  • Use roadmaps to review and approve project designs at the design gate of the project lifecycle
  • Promote the Enterprise Architecture vision and value proposition within IT and business communities
  • Research and assess new approaches and technologies
  • Lead creation and evolution of architecture principles
  • Contribute to enterprise architecture implementation plans
  • Drive architecture reviews of proposed programs during yearly planning
  • Propose architecture-driven programs to simplify complexity, reduce redundancy and leverage technology innovation
  • Consult with project teams to align projects with enterprise architecture
  • Consult with infrastructure teams to align infrastructure and technical architecture
  • Review major project solutions for soundness and enterprise architecture alignment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or business administration, or any combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Experience in application development and systems architecture
  • Proven experience developing strategies and roadmaps for Enterprise Architecture
  • Knowledge of the Insurance, Finance or Fintech Industry
  • Ability to build application prototypes using AI tools
  • Technically savvy with interest in different technologies
  • Understanding of Architecture Governance and compliance with regulatory requirements like OFSI
  • 10+ years in information technology
  • 5+ years in IT strategic planning, enterprise, solution or business architecture
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience within Enterprise Architecture
  • Experience with enterprise architecture best practices, trends and transformation
  • Experience defining global enterprise architecture
  • Experience establishing and chairing IFC architecture forums
  • Experience providing leadership on technological innovation in an enterprise
  • Experience working closely with IT PMO
  • Experience in vendor management, contracts and capacity planning in a hyper-growth environment
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions and integration of acquired businesses
  • Knowledge of IT solutions and trends, and experience evaluating/implementing new tools and solutions
  • Experience in business, system or solution architecture
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Effective at driving short-term actions consistent with long-term goals
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required to interact regularly with English-speaking colleagues across Canada
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • Cloud architecture experience is an asset
  • Enterprise Architecture certification is an asset
  • TOGAF certification is an asset
  • Familiarity with information management practices
  • Familiarity with the IT application development life cycle
  • Comfortable working in a constantly evolving technological environment
