About the role
- Software Developer Specialist modernizing Intact’s insurance technology platforms and engineering practices. Guiding product squads through tools, automation, training, mentorship, and cloud migration.
Responsibilities
- Implement tools and automations to facilitate product squads' evolution
- Review software development practices, provide feedback, and identify opportunities
- Contribute to the organization's technological and transformation roadmap
- Provide training on new tools and practices from Intact and the industry
- Keep current with relevant technological developments
- Demystify complex concepts and break complicated solutions into approachable steps
- Provide mentorship and serve as a close contact point to technical leaders
- Support product squads through the tech modernization and evolution initiative
- Advise product squads and provide training and support
- Select and build tools and platforms for product squads
- Contribute to custom applications and products across on-premises and cloud-hosted environments
Requirements
- Bachelor of Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of industry experience
- Successful track record in a similar technical leadership role
- Passion for technology, improving things, and expanding technical knowledge
- Interest in current industry trends and advances
- Vision of evolving software engineering practices and landscape
- Desire to lead change and challenge the status quo
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- No Canadian work experience required
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required to interact regularly with English-speaking colleagues across Canada
- Experience with a similar technology stack and transferable skills accepted
