Responsibilities
Participate in developing and implementing business plans and manage operations to achieve key company objectives
Provide effective leadership, motivate employees, and oversee recruitment and performance evaluations
Coach the team’s technical and professional skills and promote continuous learning through robust employee development plans
Support staff in decisions regarding claim eligibility, insurance coverage, and liability
Develop, recommend, and implement management and organizational initiatives that support company strategies, including changes to organizational structure and process/technology improvements
Act as a consultant on claims matters, including liability determination, policy interpretation, and settlement negotiations
Liaise with other departments and claims experts on technical and administrative matters
Maintain professional relationships with brokers, service providers, law firms, and internal client groups
Support operations in processing personal-lines liability claims
Requirements
College or university diploma, or any combination of education and experience considered relevant to the role
Hold a 5A Claims Expert/Adjuster certificate
Minimum of 2 years’ experience analyzing insurance contracts and handling liability claims (liability file management)
Management experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with staff at all levels
Experience coaching and developing employees
Proven leadership skills
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of provincial regulations for automobile insurance, home insurance, and liability insurance
Bilingual (French and English)
Must regularly interact with colleagues across the country
Must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment
