About the role
- Versatile Software Developer position focusing on .NET and C# at Octacom in Richmond Hill. Involves full lifecycle development, SQL, and collaborative problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support a variety of applications (C# .NET, Web APIs, and legacy VB.NET) with a focus on performance and scalability.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to interact with MSSQL databases.
- Participate in the entire dev process, from initial research and documentation to deployment and bug fixing.
- Work closely with management and operations to troubleshoot issues and recommend new tools or technologies to improve workflow.
- Provide high-quality support for existing production applications, ensuring they remain reliable for clients.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with .NET and C#
- A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Exposure to the .NET ecosystem (C#) and a strong grasp of relational databases (MSSQL) and SQL querying.
- A commitment to writing reusable, maintainable code and experience with Git version control.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical teammates.
- A 'self-starter' attitude, with comfort shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment and eagerness to learn legacy systems and modern stacks.
