Responsibilities
- Become our payroll guru, with a real understanding of Canadian, US, and UK payroll standards
- Collaborate with the People team, using a courteous and proactive approach to ensure our HRIS remains updated
- Communicate clearly and kindly with everyone across Jane
- Keep our financial data organized and our processes well-documented
- Cross-train on accounts payable within Float (expense management system)
- Help us find the repetitive parts of payroll and AP that AI can take off our plates
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- A high level of integrity and discretion when working with confidential and sensitive information
- Real curiosity about the *why* behind the work
- An eagerness to learn, seek mentorship, and start a career in accounting within tech
- Some experience in payroll or accounting helps, but a solid grasp of accounting fundamentals plus a genuine willingness to learn works too
- An accounting degree and/or working towards the CPA designation is an asset, not a requirement
