About the role

  • Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor improving quality and reliability across JELD-WEN window and door manufacturing. Driving SPC, FMEA, traceability, and Lean process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Support and promote the facility’s quality improvement efforts
  • Work with employees, suppliers and customers to develop improvements in quality and reliability of manufactured window and door products
  • Gather data, make decisions, solve problems, report and present quality performance results
  • Support process improvements to ensure the highest quality of products
  • Lead improvement activities related to the quality of the manufacturing process safely and efficiently
  • Comply with JELD-WEN EH&S requirements and applicable legal requirements, policies, standards, rules, and programs
  • Ensure customer satisfaction while reducing costs
  • Create or improve visibility and control into quality processes across manufacturing operations and supplier networks
  • Minimize scrap, rework and returned materials
  • Build complete product and process traceability into production
  • Improve communication and collaboration across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and distribution
  • Standardize processes for responding to adverse events across the enterprise
  • Update quality business processes as best practices emerge
  • Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement teams focused on enterprise quality processes
  • Monitor adverse events in real time
  • Collect data from manufacturing cells and departments
  • Link operational metrics with financial metrics
  • Manage document management, traceability, SPC, dashboards, NC/CAPA, automated product quality planning, and FMEA
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar related equivalent will be required
  • Three to five-year experience in a manufacturing environment with a well-rounded background in the quality field
  • Previous experience with ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 standards
  • Five years of Lean manufacturing experience
  • Strong Microsoft computer knowledge
  • Knowledge of SPC (CPK, PPK)
  • Exceptional organizational, written, verbal communication and customer service skills will be required
  • Understanding of KPI’s relating to quality and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to drive measurable improvements in all areas of quality
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining standards, methods, testing and evaluation of a data driven quality program
