About the role
- Journeyman Electrician testing and operating HVAC units for Silent-Aire, a hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions manufacturer. Ensuring safe electrical connections, functional testing, and accurate reports.
Responsibilities
- Ensure HVAC units operate and pass all functional tests according to company standards
- Work independently and within a team environment
- Complete accurate and complete testing reports for each unit
- Safely connect electrical systems and energize them using proper PPE and safety guidelines
- Start, operate, perform running functions, and shut down HVAC units
- Recognize and mitigate hazards during HVAC unit operation and respond effectively
- Perform duties in accordance with Silent-Aire safety program standards and Alberta occupational health and safety requirements
- Communicate primarily with the assigned work team and Team Lead, Supervisor, or Senior Production Manager
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- Certified Journeyman Electrician in Alberta or equivalent provincial certification preferred
- Basic understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), binary input/outputs and analogue inputs/outputs
- Basic computer skills and knowledge
- Basic mechanical skills and desire to understand and learn unit operations
- Good communication skills, verbal and written
- Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, systems or operations and unit operation manuals
- Working knowledge of electrical test meters, tools and related equipment
- Reliable transportation to commute to facilities in Nisku and Sherwood Park
- Ability to work rotational day shifts (6:00 AM–6:00 PM) and Friday–Sunday night shifts (6:00 PM–6:00 AM)
- Ability to work safely in a commercial/industrial environment and follow company safety guidelines
- Ability to work for long periods standing and perform manual tool use
- Must comply with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code
