About the role

  • Workday Lead Engagement Manager guiding Kainos’s client implementations from pre-sales through service management. Managing distributed teams, commercial delivery, and senior client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure successful delivery of Workday solutions for clients
  • Work with client business teams and internal sales and delivery teams to define solution scope, objectives, and approach
  • Commercially manage global Workday programs from pre-sales through implementation and handover to Application Management Services
  • Act as key client interface between functional and technical teams and the client
  • Provide domain experience and functional insight across HCM, Finance, Payroll, or relevant Workday capabilities
  • Manage project planning, resourcing, milestone tracking, commercial management, and customer satisfaction
  • Lead and support blended teams of colleagues, clients, and partner resources
  • Agree objectives, outputs, milestones, timescales, contract terms, and commercial terms with clients
  • Identify requirements, business processes, application configurations, testing plans, and other implementation artefacts
  • Create structured and accurate deliverables and present recommendations to client steering-level groups
  • Identify and action opportunities to win additional business, including senior-level negotiation and closing

Requirements

  • Established manager of systems implementations with direct experience delivering IT solutions within a consulting environment
  • Full lifecycle project management experience from initial opportunity through requirements, functional solution design, implementation, data migration, system testing, user acceptance testing, go-live, and service management
  • Two years of experience in a consulting or IT services environment
  • Strong commercial management, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent customer focus and ability to assess needs, build relationships, and manage expectations
  • Strong communication skills, including communication in a remote working situation
  • Ability to formally present to senior client audiences
  • Strong business writing skills and experience producing business cases, requirements documentation, tender documents, contracts, statements of work, and change requests
  • Demonstrable success identifying and acting on opportunities for additional business
  • Ability to provide pre-sales support, devise and cost viable solutions, and work closely with sales teams
  • Sound commercial judgment and proven experience executing project contract and commercial terms
  • Commercial experience running a team and managing distributed teams
  • Ability to act as a role model and mentor, lead, and manage people
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Positive “can do” attitude toward commercial, technical, and staffing challenges
  • Ability to implement improvements in tools and/or processes
  • Ability to travel to customer sites in the same region; minimal out-of-region travel may be required
  • Desirable: experience with Workday or other SaaS delivery methodologies
  • Desirable: experience managing, mentoring, and developing teams
  • Desirable: strong functional domain expertise in core HR and Finance, including Payroll
