About the role

  • Senior Accountant supporting reporting, audits, tax compliance, FP&A, and controls. Helping Kardium commercialize its FDA-approved atrial-fibrillation medical device.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed financial reports and schedules for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
  • Oversee general ledger accounting activities, including accounts payable, sales and accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inventory processes
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in implementation
  • Support external audit activities
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
  • Respond to auditor inquiries and assist with issue resolution
  • Support tax filings and compliance obligations
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Analyze financial results and contribute to variance analyses against forecasts and prior periods
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies
  • Support the FP&A team with financial analysis and insights
  • Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting
  • Support financial planning initiatives and management reporting requirements
  • Contribute to projects supporting Kardium's growth and preparation for public-company status

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional designation preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing or regulated industry preferred
  • Experience in life sciences preferred
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience in an operational setting preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with US GAAP is an asset
  • Experience with public company reporting is an asset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Highly motivated with enthusiasm for finding innovative solutions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to adapt and manage multiple priorities
