About the role

  • UX/UI Co-op designing accessible software interactions for Kardium’s Globe Pulsed Field System. Creating prototypes, conducting UX reviews, and supporting medical-device product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support quick design tasks and longer-running design projects
  • Research and promote inspirational UX/UI design patterns, including competitive analysis and benchmarks from other domains
  • Create detailed design documentation, including wireframes and mock-ups
  • Design detailed UX/UI prototypes and mock-ups for user testing and software development
  • Communicate design guidance to product development teams
  • Participate in hands-on user feedback sessions
  • Design graphical elements and icons
  • Lead design activities and contribute to other designers’ work
  • Provide occasional design support to other company teams
  • Update and promote the design system
  • Design new interactions and UX improvements for software driving user interaction with the Globe Pulsed Field System
  • Conduct heuristic and UX expert reviews of existing interactions and propose and test alternative designs
  • Help embed UX/UI best practices and regulatory-guideline adherence
  • Support consistency, accessibility, and usability in highly technical medical-device software

Requirements

  • Partial completion of a degree or diploma in UX design, interaction design, human computer interaction, or digital media design
  • Demonstrated experience creating UX/UI documentation, including mock-ups, wireframes, and/or prototypes
  • Experience with Figma and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Demonstrated experience creating and working with components
  • Special interest in UI design, including micro-interactions, color, and visual design
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exposure to UX/UI best practices from games, consumer applications, and B2B applications, including accessibility, visual design, and interaction patterns
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
