About the role

  • VP Finance guiding accounting, cross-border strategy, and growth for a creator management agency. Building scalable systems, teams, and executive-level financial insight.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as VP, Finance & Strategic Operations and senior strategic and financial leader on the Senior Leadership Team
  • Own the accounting function end-to-end, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting practices, record-keeping, and close processes
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting across US and Canadian entities
  • Lead cross-border financial strategy, including tax considerations and transfer pricing
  • Own and strengthen the commission and bonus program
  • Build operational structure, including evaluating and implementing accounting, expense, and payroll systems and tools
  • Build a lean, scalable finance team structure in a start-up environment
  • Recruit, lead, and develop the finance team
  • Advise on rate structures, talent deal economics, fees, margins, pricing, and scope decisions
  • Develop profitability frameworks by client, business unit, service offering, market, and revenue stream
  • Recommend strategies for revenue growth, margin expansion, cost structure, resource allocation, and capital deployment
  • Build financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and business insight capabilities
  • Advise the CEO, COO, CoSS, and Senior Leadership Team on growth, profitability, investment, and risk
  • Develop KPIs and performance dashboards
  • Influence overall company strategy with an enterprise-wide perspective
  • Partner with business development, talent, and operations teams
  • Identify, assess, and execute potential acquisitions, investments, strategic partnerships, and joint ventures

Requirements

  • 12-15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including significant experience in senior finance leadership roles
  • Experience working across both US and Canadian markets
  • Strong understanding of cross-border strategies, including taxation and transfer pricing
  • Proven experience building operational and team structure, including developing new processes and systems from scratch
  • Experience leading and developing a team of at least two people
  • Hands-on leadership experience in a start-up environment
  • Comfort with small and scalable team structures
  • Advanced analytics skills
  • Ability to build complex financial models
  • CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • Experience developing executive-level reporting materials for senior leadership teams and business stakeholders
  • Experience in a sales/commission-based environment, including ownership of an effective commission or bonus program
  • Experience managing organizations with multiple legal entities and intercompany relationships is considered a bonus
  • Previous experience within a marketing, advertising, media, communications, talent, influencer, creator or related agency business is ideal, but not required
