About the role
- AI/ML developer intern building cloud-native software for Kinaxis, a global supply-chain orchestration company. Developing ML pipelines, models, and reliable platform capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and integrate software solutions for real-world AI/ML applications with senior engineers
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the AI platform for scalability, maintainability, security, and quality
- Develop and integrate ML software end to end, including development tools, infrastructure, ML pipelines, and models
- Design troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-prevention methods for ML software systems
- Develop capabilities and tools that improve user experience and reduce troubleshooting cost and resolution time
- Automate and improve development and release processes
- Understand end-user use cases and system architecture and implementation end to end
- Gain hands-on experience through paired programming, code reviews, and mentorship
- Participate in agile practices including sprint planning, huddles, paired programming, and retrospectives
- Verify functional and non-functional feature quality and take ownership of developed features
- Work with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows, Azure/GCP, GitHub Actions, Shell Script, Terraform, Linux/Unix CLI, and SQL
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree or have completed 3rd year Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Currently enrolled in full-time education or a recent/upcoming graduate within 12 months of the placement end date
- Familiarity and experience with Generative AI and LLMs, prompt engineering, AI coding assistants, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and OpenAI Codex
- Strong software engineering skills and programming proficiency in Python, including libraries such as Pandas and ML frameworks
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes at scale, including Helm, Argo Workflows, and CI/CD
- Working experience with Azure/GCP cloud environments
- Proficiency in SQL, including window functions, aggregate functions, and joins
- Understanding of distributed computing architectures
- Experience with machine learning solutions and productization
- Strong customer orientation and ability to understand the system end-user perspective
- Ability to work through complex technical problems with a logical and methodical approach
- Strong communication skills, including articulating complex concepts in writing and speech
- Enthusiasm for software development, AI/ML, and cloud computing
- Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to change
