About the role
- Quality Engineering Specialist supporting L3Harris Technologies’ regulated product launches and manufacturing quality. Driving APQP, PPAP, root-cause analysis, audits, and corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Support product quality across development, launch, and manufacturing operations
- Support advanced quality planning, launch readiness, and production support, including APQP execution and structured launch activities
- Support in-country assembly and localization efforts through on-site and remote engagement
- Assist the Quality Manager with quality assurance process issues and drive issues upstream to prevent recurrence
- Compile and analyze quality performance data and develop graphs, charts, and quality reports
- Participate in, audit, and drive QA metrics
- Lead or support Zero Defect Program activities
- Lead or support PFMEA, CAR, and RCCA processes for customer and internal quality issues
- Apply 8D, A3, or Six Sigma problem-solving tools and techniques
- Coordinate product and process failure analysis and corrective and preventive actions with cross-functional teams
- Participate in APQP throughout development, launch, and post-launch stabilization
- Support launch gate reviews and readiness assessments
- Apply PPAP knowledge to support launch readiness, supplier engagement, and issue resolution
- Coordinate or participate in cross-functional task teams addressing quality or launch concerns
- Investigate internal and supplier-caused deficiencies and determine causes, corrective actions, and defect disposition
- Prepare reports, corrective action statements, metrics, and supporting documentation
- Support containment activities during launch and production
- Conduct developmental QA and process audits
- Communicate quality data and status in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings
- Provide progress and status reports to management
- Travel to service centers, supplier sites, and in-country assembly locations for audits, launch activities, issue resolution, and localization efforts
Requirements
- Proficient knowledge of the job area
- Practical knowledge of project management may be required
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and minimum 2 years of prior related experience, or minimum 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree
- Ability to read and write technical reports
- Ability to read and understand complex technical and customer requirements
- Ability to research, investigate, and interview to support root-cause analysis
- Ability to communicate quality data and impact clearly to gain cross-functional alignment and buy-in
- Experience supporting APQP, PFMEA, and launch-related quality activities
- Knowledge and understanding of PPAP requirements and intent
- Experience applying structured root-cause methodologies, including 8D, PFMEA, and RCCA
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 processes
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically across organizations
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced, launch-driven manufacturing environment
- Prior experience working with complex regulated products, defense, or similar environments is highly desired
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt designation is an asset
- Quality Assurance, Auditing, and Investigation experience is an asset
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation is an asset
- Must be able to create ECR/ECO/PR documentation through Teamcenter
- Must be able to sign off ECR/CECO/WICI/LOG/RFV documentation through Teamcenter
- Must be able to use the ERP LN system
