About the role

  • Integration and test engineer validating naval communications systems for L3Harris Technologies. Designing, automating, executing, and troubleshooting system verification tests.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to verification and validation of naval communications systems for military and commercial applications
  • Contribute to test design, planning, automation, and execution
  • Work with embedded software designers, hardware designers, product owners, and stakeholders to understand products and test objectives
  • Contribute to design reviews and ensure design requirements are testable
  • Define test specifications for low- to complex-level system and integration functionalities
  • Develop and document test plans and procedures
  • Execute tests and generate reports
  • Define and set up test and validation environments, including script development and vendor coordination
  • Develop and run automated tests covering functionality and diagnostic requirements
  • Communicate critical issues and status updates
  • Debug test failures and analyze root causes
  • Track test iterations, report results, troubleshoot, and support resolution

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of two years relevant working experience; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of related work experience
  • Experience with integration and test of military or commercial systems
  • Knowledge of naval communication systems
  • Knowledge of environmental test conditions, both electrical and mechanical
  • Resolution of technical issues arising during system and subsystem implementation, integration and testing
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of verification methodology and software development life cycle
  • Knowledge of network protocols (TCP, IP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, SSH, etc.)
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Lua, JavaScript, Bash, XML, JSON, etc.)
  • Experience with hypervisors (KVM, VMware, VirtualBox, etc.)
  • Experience in test automation and continuous integration
  • Experience in functional and performance testing
  • Strong English written and spoken skills
  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance
  • Must be eligible to meet U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements
  • Preferred: experience with operating systems, test equipment, IBM DOORS®, military standards, naval and commercial certification standards, and MS Office tools
