About the role

  • Electrical Superintendent leading Ledcor’s industrial infrastructure projects across Western Canada. Overseeing electrical construction, safety, crews, schedules, quality, and turnover.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure site safety measures meet or exceed corporate safety policies and applicable legislation
  • Lead and oversee electrical construction activities, including equipment installation, cable tray installation, cable pulling, terminations, grounding, lighting, testing, and turnover
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, subcontractors, schedules, quality standards, and commissioning activities
  • Hire, manage, and support hourly employees in collaboration with Construction and Project Managers
  • Supervise, train, coach, and mentor project team members, including direct and indirect reports
  • Communicate with staff, trades, subcontractors, and clients to achieve safety, productivity, quality, and performance objectives
  • Ensure projects follow approved plans, specifications, building codes, and quality standards
  • Review project contracts and subcontracts, identify risks and opportunities, and support financial targets, forecasts, and profitability goals
  • Develop, maintain, and update resource-loaded 30-, 60-, and 90-day look-ahead schedules
  • Ensure key milestones and completion dates are achieved
  • Lead safety, scheduling, productivity, system turnover, and stakeholder meetings
  • Maintain project documentation and strong customer relationships
  • Drive field excellence from planning through turnover for major industrial projects

Requirements

  • 3 to 8 years of construction supervision experience on industrial or large-scale construction projects
  • Journeyperson Electrician certification, post-secondary diploma, or engineering degree
  • Previous experience as a General Foreperson, Superintendent, or similar leadership role
  • Experience supervising Electrical General Forepersons and Electrical Forepersons
  • Experience running crews of 50+ electricians
  • Proven track record maintaining a strong safety culture and working effectively with diverse teams
  • Experience delivering major industrial construction projects valued at $50M or greater
  • Strong knowledge of industrial construction methodologies, practices, and advanced workface planning principles
  • Ability to interpret industrial construction documents and ensure contractual requirements, expectations, and stakeholder interests are clearly defined and protected
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction trades with specialized expertise in electrical construction and installation activities
  • Extensive experience planning and executing electrical scopes, including temporary power, cable tray installation, cable pulling programs, electrical equipment installation, terminations, testing, and system turnover
  • Experience managing LOTO programs, budgets, and schedules; coordinating multiple project scopes; and developing stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to work evenings, holidays, weekends, and travel away from home
  • Willingness to travel with full-time project location determined by project needs in Western Canada
  • Ability to work in a site-based role with assigned rotational shifts
