About the role
- Senior Android engineer building AI-native growth and monetization experiments for Life360’s family safety app. Shipping subscription, advertising, and purchase experiences at consumer scale.
Responsibilities
- Design and build Android growth and monetization features and experiments, including subscription paywalls, pricing tests, ad placement and mediation experiments, IAP flows, and upsell/upgrade surfaces
- Run dozens of concurrent tests across the Life360 app
- Partner with product, design, data science, and analytics to translate hypotheses into shippable experiments and turn results into decisions
- Orchestrate AI agents to create specifications, generate code and tests, verify results, and perform reviews
- Instrument experiments accurately through exposure logging and analytics
- Ship performant and reliable Android experiences to tens of millions of users
- Turn ambiguous or partially specified ideas into working versions for real users quickly
- Define and codify AI-native Android engineering practices and playbooks
- Contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, technical standards, and continuous improvement
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for mobile experiments and releases
- Mentor engineers and contribute to team processes and AI-native engineering practices
Requirements
- 6+ years of Android software engineering experience shipping production apps at consumer scale
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience prompting, evaluating, and building with LLMs
- Strong proficiency with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose and the Android View system
- Deep familiarity with Android Studio, Kotlin Coroutines, and Flow
- Experience with MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, Jetpack/ViewModel/Navigation, and Hilt or Dagger
- Comfort with feature flagging, A/B testing, exposure logging, holdouts, and guardrail metrics
- Experience with Android Studio Profiler, Perfetto/Systrace, Macrobenchmark, and Crashlytics or equivalent
- Experience with Android CI/CD, Gradle, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or similar, and modular build systems
- Deep experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, context-window management, and MCP/function calling
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience
- Experience with AI coding tools as a professional standard, including analysis, coding, refactoring, testing, codebase navigation, and documentation
- Ability to review AI-generated code and take accountability for shipped work
