About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to drive merchant acquisition and customer conversion to Lightspeed Payments and Capital
  • Manage relationships with major global card networks and leading financial services providers
  • Establish joint business plans with partners
  • Collaborate with strategy, product, legal, compliance, finance, marketing, and sales teams
  • Set priorities with partners and promote innovation, product development, geographic expansion, co-marketing, and new revenue streams
  • Improve the payments business model, including margins, approval rates, partner efficiency, and commercial terms
  • Lead complex negotiations and commercial structuring with payment partners
  • Monitor developments in network rules, regulatory changes, and market trends
  • Represent Lightspeed externally and develop new strategic partnership relationships
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and partner roadmaps that generate measurable business impact

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing large payment providers
  • 3+ years of experience managing relationships with card networks
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy within financial services, fintech, card networks, acquiring, or payments
  • 3+ years of experience launching products and expanding markets in financial services
  • 5+ years of experience in business modeling and knowledge of the payments ecosystem
  • Experience with Fiserv, Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, and Worldpay
  • Experience with Visa, Mastercard, and American Express
  • Applied understanding of card network dynamics, acquiring models, profitability, and the overall payments value chain
  • Comfortable interacting at the executive level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accountability and within a matrixed organization
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical rigor, sound judgment, and attention to detail
  • Ability to develop ideas, formulate clear recommendations, and influence decisions
  • Determination, flexibility, and a proactive, action-oriented mindset
