About the role

  • Game Programmer building performant systems and gameplay features for Ludia’s mobile games. Collaborating with designers, artists, and programmers in Montreal’s hybrid studio.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the overall design and architecture of game systems
  • Implement, test, and maintain gameplay features and core systems
  • Collaborate with designers, artists, and other programmers to ensure consistency throughout the game
  • Participate in defining the development schedule and deliver programming tasks on time
  • Participate in code reviews, propose improvements, and support technical decision-making
  • Design game architecture and implement gameplay features
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a smooth development process

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in game programming or software development
  • Experience with Unity, C#, and/or C++
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
  • Passion for games and interest in the evolution of development technologies and methodologies
  • Previous experience in the video game industry
  • Knowledge of Python
  • Understanding of cross-platform development (mobile, console, etc.)
  • Experience writing shaders and working with 3D graphics
  • Familiarity with developing custom tools for artists and production pipelines
  • Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies
  • Located in the province of Quebec
  • Authorized to work in Canada
