Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers in delivering heavy civil and industrial-type projects.
- Assist with project documentation, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Prepare budgets and construction schedules and set up project administration files.
- Initiate and maintain correspondence with Owners, Architects, Engineers, sub-trades, and suppliers under Project Manager direction.
- Select suppliers and sub-trades and obtain quotations.
- Assist with and clarify scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers.
- Develop relationships with clients, consultants, realtors, and developers.
- Maintain continuous focus on site safety in accordance with regulatory requirements and corporate policy.
- Attend site meetings and assist with completing project deficiencies.
- Close tenders in consultation with senior managers.
- Help ensure projects are delivered profitably, to specification, with high quality and strong site safety.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years or more experience as a Project Coordinator in the construction industry.
- A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or a combination of education and industry experience.
- Experience working on water / wastewater projects is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to support project documentation, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Knowledge of Design-Build, Plan and Spec, and Construction Management contract types.
- Ability to maintain correspondence with Owners, Architects, Engineers, sub-trades, and suppliers.
- Ability to select suppliers and sub-trades and obtain quotations.
- Ability to clarify scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers.
- Ability to focus on site safety in accordance with regulatory requirements and corporate policy.
