About the role

  • Project Coordinator supporting Maple Reinders’ heavy civil and industrial construction projects in Kelowna. Assisting with budgets, schedules, documentation, tenders, and site safety.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in heavy civil and industrial-type projects.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and construction schedules.
  • Set up project administration files.
  • Initiate and maintain correspondence with owners, architects, engineers, sub-trades, and suppliers under the direction of the Project Manager.
  • Understand supplier and sub-trade selection and obtain quotations.
  • Assist with and clarify scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers.
  • Develop relationships with current and prospective clients, consultants, realtors, and developers.
  • Maintain a continuous focus on site safety.
  • Attend site meetings and assist with completing project deficiencies.
  • Close tenders in consultation with senior managers.
  • Support Project Managers in delivering projects profitably, to specification, with high quality and strong site safety.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years or more experience as a Project Coordinator in the construction industry.
  • A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or a combination of education and industry experience.
  • Experience working on water / wastewater projects is considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to support heavy civil and industrial-type projects.
  • Knowledge of documentation, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Ability to work with project owners, architects, engineers, sub-trades, and suppliers.
  • Ability to maintain a continuous focus on site safety in accordance with regulatory requirements and Corporate Health and Safety Policy.
