Part-time Care Team Member providing Christian pastoral and crisis support to employees and families. Visiting client worksites, hospitals, homes, funeral homes, and other care settings across Ontario.
Responsibilities
Serve as a frontline Care Team Member fulfilling MCC's mission and Christian ministry
Serve as a messenger and conveyor of faith, mission, and purpose
Interact with companies, employees, and the community in a manner exhibiting character through personal and spiritual disciplines
Make regular, usually weekly, visits to company worksites to interact with employees and build relationships of trust and friendship motivated by Christian faith
Visit employees or immediate family members in hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, family residences, and other locations where care can be expressed
Provide confidential pastoral discussions regarding family matters, divorce, serious illness, aging parents, death and grief, parenting, financial stress, and other personal issues
Provide referrals and coordinate specialized assistance for employees and immediate family members with specific needs
Assist with planning, conducting, or attending funerals and provide follow-up grief support
Make jail visits to employees and immediate family members when needed
Serve notifications of death and serious injuries and encourage those affected by tragedies
Provide post-termination care for laid-off or terminated employees
Facilitate, but not lead, spiritual enrichment activities
Provide literature and other resources for employees' life issues
Represent companies to clients or customers when ministry services are appropriate, including serious illness, accidents, traumatic events, and funerals
Participate in new employee orientation and explain the Employee Care Service and Care Team Member role
With Executive Director of Operations permission, perform other duties and services requested by company leadership within the Letter of Agreement
Requirements
Fluent in English
Hindi or Punjabi speaking is required
Urdu speaking is an asset
Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary group and in an interfaith setting

Skills to deliver community presentations

Computer proficiency using Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet, email, and web-based software applications
Ability to learn new technology programs
Active provincial license and auto insurance
Must pass a pre-employment background check and reference check
Benefits
Part-time position at 3 hours/week
