About the role

Product Development Technologist advancing Shawflex cable and wire solutions at Mattr. Coordinating engineering projects, testing, compliance, and manufacturability improvements.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate assigned engineering projects, technical investigations, non-conformance reviews, compliance activities, project plans, timelines, deliverables, and status reporting
Develop technical expertise in run-to-order and engineered-to-order products to support product configuration and respond to customer and internal technical inquiries
Interpret technical requirements and collaborate across functions to deliver practical, manufacturable engineering solutions
Support product enhancement initiatives, engineering trials, testing programs, product approvals, certifications, and standards compliance activities
Work closely with Sales, Business Development, Operations, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve technical challenges and improve product performance
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, manufacturability, and operational efficiency
Create, maintain, and update engineering documentation, technical reports, engineering change records, monthly reports, and stakeholder communications
Collaborate with customers and external regulatory, testing, and certification organizations to support technical reviews, approvals, and compliance requirements
Influence project outcomes and drive cross-functional deliverables without direct people management responsibility
Support shop-floor activities, production observations, engineering trials, and issue resolution while following all applicable safety procedures

College Diploma (3-year program) in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or a related technical discipline
3 to 5 years of relevant technical experience
Hands-on manufacturing or shop-floor experience
Strong technical documentation, engineering analysis, project coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to interpret technical requirements and support product configuration activities
Experience supporting testing programs, engineering trials, non-conformance investigations, and compliance-related activities
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate results
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
