About the role

  • Data Systems Analyst building and validating BI reports for Sleep Country Canada/Dormez-vous?, a Canadian sleep products retailer. Documenting metrics, supporting UAT, and training business users on self-service reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain reports using existing semantic models, extending measures, visuals, and dashboards to answer business questions without duplicating logic
  • Validate report accuracy, completeness, and reliability against source systems and identify gaps before release
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing, manage test cycles, log and resolve defects, and secure formal sign-off
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into detailed report specifications
  • Create and maintain report specifications, metric definitions, migration mapping, and business scenario documentation
  • Support self-service reporting adoption through user training, guided walkthroughs, and documentation
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to define reporting needs and align metric definitions
  • Contribute to source system documentation and business scenario mapping for data model design and reporting consistency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data, Analytics, or a related field
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in a data analyst, BI analyst, data systems, data engineering, data platforms, or analytics-related role
  • Strong SQL skills, including profiling, joining, and reconciling large and imperfect datasets independently
  • Experience working directly with ERP, POS, OMS, or e-commerce source-system data
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise BI platforms such as Qlik, Power BI, or Domo
  • Experience with Tableau or similar tools is relevant
  • Experience supporting reporting or analytics in retail, e-commerce, or a multi-channel operating environment is preferred
  • Ability to gather requirements from business stakeholders and align metric definitions
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, completeness, and quality
  • Ability to support user enablement through training, walkthroughs, and clear communication
