• Assist with Canadian registration acquisition and maintenance.
• Execute a practical AML/ATF compliance program for the crypto on/off-ramp and fiat remittance business.
• Support Mercuryo's Canadian regulatory roadmap, including FINTRAC money services business registration and Bank of Canada RPAA registration, renewal, amendment, and post-registration workstreams.
• Coordinate inputs for FINTRAC, Bank of Canada, and provincial submissions, including policies, business plans, safeguarding and operational risk materials, organizational records, flow-of-funds materials, and regulator forms.
• Prepare first drafts, track regulator questions and deficiencies, gather responsive evidence, coordinate internal owners and external advisers, and maintain records of submissions and commitments.
• Support FINTRAC and Bank of Canada examination readiness and ongoing registration operations, including renewals, RPAA annual reports, amendments, and key-person or control changes.
• Execute operational AML work, quality assurance, investigations, vendor due diligence, and control testing.
• Draft, review, and support implementation of the Canadian AML/ATF framework, including risk assessments, policies, procedures, control descriptions, and governance materials.
• Help document and operationalize KYC/KYB identity verification, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, travel rule, investigations, escalation, STR and FINTRAC reporting governance, training, recordkeeping, and effectiveness review processes.
• Maintain an audit-ready compliance evidence library with version control, approval records, testing evidence, training records, and issue-remediation tracking.
• Partner with Product on feature and product releases from a compliance perspective.
• Coordinate projects across Compliance, Legal, Product, Operations, Finance, Security, and Engineering, including Jira ticket creation and follow-up.
• Prepare agendas, capture decisions and action items, follow up with owners, identify gaps, and escalate blockers early.
• Provide support on other compliance priorities as needed in a growing global fintech.
