About the role

  • Project Manager delivering submetering installations for Metergy, a utility-measurement technology company. Coordinating construction, commissioning, budgets, stakeholders, and regulatory compliance across Ontario projects.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and finalize multiple submetering projects from start to completion
  • Coordinate design, resource scheduling, meter installation and commissioning, and material planning
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor project budgets, develop cost estimates, track expenses, and implement cost-control measures
  • Communicate project status, issues, and risks; conduct project meetings and manage documentation
  • Conduct frequent site visits to support project progress
  • Improve project management processes and evaluate their effectiveness
  • Manage commissioning of electrical/mechanical metering installations in new construction and retrofit environments
  • Analyze drawings and electrical/mechanical systems to support contractors and internal staff
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage installation projects and provide customer service, issue analysis, and problem-solving
  • Develop progress reports and project timelines tracking milestones and deliverables
  • Provide technical evaluation for metering opportunities identified by Sales
  • Perform other tasks supporting installation projects as necessary

Requirements

  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree, or a Technologist Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in the electrical and/or metering field
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including electricity distribution, DCW, DHW, fan coil, and heat pump systems in high-rise/multi-residential settings
  • Familiarity with Measurement Canada, Electrical Safety Authority, and TSSA regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Excellent planning, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of construction-site health and safety, particularly around electrical equipment
  • Valid Ontario Driver's Licence (G)
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act
  • Willingness and ability to travel weekly within the GTA and surrounding municipalities
  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Ability to work in electrical distribution rooms/closets and hazardous areas with potential electrical shock hazards
  • Ability to occasionally travel out of province
  • Ability to lift and/or transport construction meters using a personal vehicle or company transportation
