About the role

  • Service Centre Representative delivering Manitoba Public Insurance licensing, registration, insurance, and claims services. Providing face-to-face customer support and processing driver, vehicle, and claims transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide face-to-face customer service related to Manitoba Public Insurance products, services, claims-related services and policies
  • Sell and issue MPI products and services
  • Issue, renew and update driver’s licences
  • Perform Canada-wide searches on the Driver Licence System (zScope)
  • Issue driving-in-force letters, conditional licences, permits and suspension notices
  • Communicate with customers regarding licence suspensions, licensing requirements, driver programs and the Driver Safety Rating system
  • Verify documents and letters, including abstracts and claims experience letters
  • Create testing appointments and administer electronic and oral knowledge tests
  • Assist with motorcycle road testing in the trailing vehicle where offered
  • Check customers in and verify eligibility for driver testing appointments
  • Provide information related to cognitive assessments through Driver Fitness
  • Interpret online customer policy information
  • Issue, cancel, renew and update registration and insurance policies
  • Counsel customers on insurance coverage and additional coverage options
  • Administer the International Registration Plan, pick-up and pay, and renewals
  • Explain Canadian Loss Experience Automobile Rating and rate determination
  • Administer salesperson and dealer tests
  • Issue, renew and replace dealer plates and sell Dealer Interim Registration Permits
  • Issue, renew and replace Repairer plates
  • Explain Driver Z program, parental consent, cancellation and refund processes
  • Print and witness Total Loss documents and complete associated IWS transactions
  • Witness documents requiring a witness or Commissioner for Oaths
  • Issue GST refunds and receive payments
  • Monitor inboxes and schedule non-driver, adjuster and New Claim appointments
  • Calculate earned premiums for claim coverage consideration
  • Receive payments for claims buybacks
  • Receive tow bills and prepare payments
  • Book interview appointments and collect fees
  • Review and analyze evidence collected and make decisions on application status

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Education in customer service or business-related courses is an asset
  • Three years of customer service and administrative office experience
  • Experience working with MPI products and services is an asset
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Software
  • Intermediate listening and comprehension skills
  • Initiative and ability to be resourceful
  • Intermediate oral and written communication skills
