About the role
- Senior Design Lead guiding complex product design projects, teams, and client relationships. Shaping design strategy and coaching designers at a people-focused design consultancy.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple complex design projects or workstreams, defining approaches, deliverables, and timelines
- Guide teams through ambiguity and maintain alignment and collaboration
- Maintain consistent design judgment and critical rigor
- Coach direct reports, leads, and senior designers
- Strengthen design thinking across team projects
- Own client relationships, manage expectations, address concerns, and escalate strategic decisions as needed
- Establish and articulate design strategy aligned with business goals
- Align with senior clients on future-state vision
- Advocate for and defend design decisions with senior stakeholders
- Translate design rationale for executive audiences
- Manage direct reports and client relationships
Requirements
- Proven 8 years full-time industry experience as a product designer
- 4+ years of people management experience
- Portfolio we can access
- Must have a minimum 3-hour overlap with Toronto EST timezone
