About the role

  • Pharmacy Support Specialist remotely processing prescriptions, handling calls, and supporting centralized services for Murphy’s Pharmacies. Ensuring accurate, confidential client care across pharmacy locations.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage inbound client and pharmacy calls
  • Address client inquiries, concerns, and requests, escalating when required
  • Educate and assist clients with Auto Fill, Care Plan, pharmacy appointments, and other programs
  • Schedule appointments and follow-up activities
  • Provide remote prescription data entry and processing support to multiple pharmacy locations
  • Enter, review, and process prescriptions accurately and efficiently
  • Assist with Central Fill prescription processing
  • Support third-party billing inquiries, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate resolution
  • Provide support for pharmacy initiatives, clinics, program rollouts, and operational projects
  • Support pharmacies during increased workload or operational need
  • Manage shared phone queues
  • Participate in virtual training, team meetings, and operational activities
  • Collaborate with pharmacy managers, pharmacists, assistants, technicians, support specialists, managers, and healthcare professionals
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, safe, and healthy work environment
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Pharmacy Assistant experience required
  • Previous experience in a community pharmacy, healthcare environment, customer service role, or call center setting considered an asset
  • 4+ years’ experience with prescription data entry and processing preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of Kroll Pharmacy Management System preferred
  • Experience with third-party billing preferred
  • Strong customer service and client care skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • High attention to detail and demonstrated accuracy in data entry
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Proficiency with Kroll, Microsoft Office applications, and communication platforms
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to privacy, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
  • Flexibility in scheduling to support operational requirements
  • May be required to work onsite if in close proximity to pharmacy locations
