About the role

  • IEP Support Officer processing applications, claims, payments, and legal documents for NACCA, which supports Indigenous financial institutions and economic development. Providing IFI guidance, records management, policy compliance, and client services in a hybrid Ottawa role.

Responsibilities

  • Process Indigenous Entrepreneurship Program applications, claims, payments, legal documents, and related reporting information from assigned IFI regions
  • Apply approved policies and procedures related to ABFP, ACDP, ADLA, and IRB programs
  • Process applications, claims, and payments within five business days of receipt
  • Draft legal documents within approved IEP policies and procedures
  • Verify submitted information for completeness and quality
  • Provide approval/remediation recommendations to senior management for risk mitigation and compliance
  • Follow due diligence and risk management processes
  • Maintain accurate client files and reporting/payment records
  • Communicate with assigned Indigenous Financial Institutions and provide guidance on IEP policies and procedures
  • Advise IFIs of Committee meetings, deadlines, payments, and missing or corrected documentation
  • Peer-review applications and claims for policy adherence and decision-making consistency
  • Respond to general inquiries and refer them to the appropriate IFI
  • Maintain IFI client/project files and records in accordance with accessibility and confidentiality requirements
  • Recommend file classifications and corporate-record maintenance practices
  • Provide documentation for committees and stakeholder meetings
  • Attend working groups and participate in special projects
  • Collaborate with other NACCA programs and entities
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information discreetly
  • Undertake related duties as required

Requirements

  • Completion of College Diploma in Business Administration or Office Administration Certificate is preferred
  • Candidates with a combination of relevant experience and education may be considered
  • Minimum 1–3 years of client service delivery experience required
  • Prior experience working with Indigenous communities and/or organizations preferred
  • Proficiency in general office procedures
  • Ability to complete basic accounting procedures
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Excellent customer service and issue-resolution skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Strong cross-cultural skills
  • Knowledge of Canadian public policy and Indigenous economic policy considered a significant asset
  • Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and work under pressure
  • Bilingualism considered a significant asset, with proficiency in English, French, and Indigenous languages
  • This is a unionized position based in Ottawa, Ontario
