About the role

  • Program Coordinator connecting Alberta high school students with internships through CAREERS: The Next Generation, a nonprofit career-development organization. Building employer partnerships, coordinating placements, and facilitating student programming.

Responsibilities

  • Connect with new and existing employers to promote CAREERS’ programs and build student internship opportunities
  • Coordinate and manage student internship programs, including recruitment, placement facilitation with schools, and monitoring student progress
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with employers, employer associations, students, parents, schools, educators, Indigenous communities, and other partners
  • Facilitate in-person presentations for employer partners and students on CAREERS programming, initiatives, and events
  • Identify community sector needs and resources and implement plans for CAREERS programming and events
  • Collaborate with other CAREERS departments to advance the organization’s mission
  • Collaborate with team members and assist with CAREERS events to produce positive outcomes for schools, students, and employer partners

  • Ability to engage employers and educators at all organizational levels to influence outcomes supporting student growth and employer needs
  • Proven sales or project completion history with a track record of success
  • Ability to build long-term sustainable relationships
  • Strong communication, time management, organization, and coordination skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Active in community engagement and/or community volunteerism
  • Strong user of Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) database tools
  • Experience with computer-based tracking of daily and calendar activities
  • Related experience and/or education in industry, project management, education, or career development
  • Satisfactory criminal and child welfare checks required
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle essential
