About the role
- Financial Analyst role focused on financial reporting and accounting tasks for NFI Group's Internal Accounting team. Involves collaboration with supervisors and ensuring accurate deadline submissions.
Responsibilities
- Performs recurring monthly tasks and journal entries to assist the Internal Group Accounting team in financial close
- Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and account analysis
- Maintains general ledger accounts with a high degree of accuracy
- Collaborates with Account Transactions Team Supervisor and Internal Group Accounting Manager to ensure that deadlines are met
- Supports the Internal Group Accounting leadership in the development and implementation of standardized accounting policies and processes
- Aids in process standardization and system implementation projects
- Assists with internal and external audit requests
- Supports and interacts with various functional groups within Finance and Operations
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, or a combination of related education and experience
- 1-2 year's experience in a finance/accounting function
- Demonstrated knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Analytical problem solver with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong MS Excel skills and ability to learn new systems
- Current enrolment or completion of a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) considered an asset
- Familiarity with Oracle considered an asset
