Part-time Rehabilitation Assistant supporting physiotherapy and occupational therapy programs at Oak Valley Health. Delivering patient exercises, ADL training, assistive devices, and equipment management.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the interprofessional team to support Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in providing quality patient care
Carry out developed patient exercise programs
Provide gait and balance training
Conduct exercise groups
Apply modalities within the scope of practice
Provide activities of daily living (ADL) training
Implement individual and group treatment programs
Design and make assistive devices to improve ADL and cognitive functioning
Set up and manage equipment
Clean and maintain equipment and therapy space
Perform administrative and other assigned duties
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited OTA/PTA education program in Canada
Related previous experience or sound knowledge of the rehabilitation/physiotherapy/occupational assistant role
BLS Certification is required
Previous seating experience would be an asset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with the interprofessional team
Evidence of self-direction and flexibility in work approach
Proficient computer skills and experience with MS Office; Meditech experience is an asset
Demonstrated good attendance and performance records
Commitment to a healthy and safe workplace and compliance with hospital policies, health and safety legislation, best practices, and mandatory education
