About the role

  • Reliability Engineer focusing on developing and improving maintenance strategies for rotating equipment in Orica's Manufacturing Centre. Ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that safety, health, and environmental procedures are adhered to within his/her work environment.
  • Ensure Reliability centred and cost-effective work strategies are in place, integrated into the Work Management System and compliant with full PDCA cycle for all rotating equipment according to the equipment criticality.
  • This includes preventative, predictive and proactive maintenance.
  • Ensure all assets have required master data in SAP that is compliant to Orica Master Data Standard to support with the active work strategies.
  • Deliver the Defect Elimination Program to prioritise plant and process defects, develop root cause analysis and implement solution to eliminate root causes.
  • Also roll out and coach the process across the entire Mfg. Centre.
  • Complete asset performance trending and analysis using Integrity tools (e.g. Weibull) to define repair and replacement policies and identify Integrity improvements.
  • Analyse Product Line SQDC KPIs from Reliability perspective and drive the identification and implementation of improvement opportunity with the Reliability, Maintenance Planning and Maintenance Execution functions.
  • Complete Reliability engineering modelling, analysis and action plans for the plant and critical assets using Weibull, FMECA, RBM and other techniques to define and improve equipment and spares strategy.
  • Define, implement and continuously improve the Condition monitoring program for all assets with appropriate KPIs to assess its compliance, effectiveness and value.
  • Complete subject matter expert reviews of management of change proposals (permanent or temporary) within area of responsibility and skillset relating to Rotating equipment.
  • Deliver day-to-day technical support to Product Line and other departments to ensure Product Line continuity as required.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and Integrity with operators, maintainers and engineering peers through coaching and field support.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 5 years’ experience in petro-chemical or chemical manufacturing industry with considerable change management and safety component
  • Must be an active member of APEGA and be a Professional Engineer
  • Proven knowledge of reliability tools in the area of rotating equipment
  • Capable of defining the preventative measures to avoid failures in rotating equipment.
  • Experience in vibration and lube oil analysis.
  • Capable of reviewing the results and propose mitigation actions.
  • Competent in preparing the scope of work for rotating equipment repairs, including defining the quality check lists to assure proper assembly of the repaired equipment.
