About the role

  • National sales leader growing People Corporation’s Indigenous benefits and retirement solutions practice. Leading business development, RFPs, client partnerships, and a 4–6-person sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the growth of the National Indigenous Solutions Practice and strengthen national presence
  • Develop sales plans, identify market opportunities, and coach a high-performing team
  • Originate strategic partnerships, client opportunities, and growth possibilities
  • Complete or facilitate in-depth RFPs for private and public sector opportunities
  • Prospect, network, and mentor consultants to build sales pipelines
  • Lead third-party broker relationships
  • Develop standardized business development training modules
  • Hire, onboard, train, and develop sales team members
  • Grow sales nationally and oversee 4–6 Business Development Consultants
  • Create annual sales plans and sector/geography-aligned sales strategies
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle for group insurance, retirement, administration, wellness, HR services, and related products
  • Develop growth-channel strategies, value propositions, and go-to-market strategies
  • Understand prospective client needs and represent them in RFPs and finalist presentations
  • Develop pricing strategies and track competitive market costs
  • Recommend plan designs based on client strategic needs, Total Rewards strategy, and insurance risk philosophy
  • Present, coordinate, and review proposals and finalist materials
  • Collaborate with the National Indigenous Solutions Leadership team and internal departments
  • Support client and prospective-client presentations, including on-site presentations
  • Maintain client decision-maker and department relationships
  • Track sales data accurately in CRM
  • Ensure customer-service commitments align with National Best Practices
  • Establish sales goals, targets, and budgets
  • Analyze pipeline health, forecasting accuracy, KPIs, client trends, market trends, and competitive trends
  • Implement and maintain sales planning and forecasting processes, systems, and tools
  • Collaborate with service, finance, and leadership teams on client transitions and reporting
  • Ensure customer-facing materials meet branding and compliance standards
  • Provide day-to-day people leadership, coaching, and performance management
  • Promote a culture aligned with People Corporation values and a respectful workplace
  • Contribute to regional and national sales strategy initiatives

Requirements

  • Willingness to travel, including overnight stays
  • LLQP required (active or reinstated within 90 days if lapsed)
  • 5–10 years of proven sales experience with demonstrated success leading or mentoring sales teams
  • Strong command of the full sales cycle
  • Group Benefits (GB) and Group Retirement Services (GRS) experience is a strong asset
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations is a valued asset
